The Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Program at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab and the Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Center at Northwestern Memorial Hospital are partnering to offer two in-person support groups – one for people with Parkinson’s disease and one for care partners–held at the same time and location.
We encourage you to come together with your loved one to receive support, build connections and engage in great discussions and activities.
What to Expect
Body
We begin as one large group for brief announcements. Afterward, participants will separate into their respective groups.
Care Partner Support Group
A dedicated space for care partners to:
- Engage in open, supportive discussion
- Share personal experiences
- Receive emotional support and encouragement
- Learn practical caregiving strategies
Parkinson’s Support Group
A dedicated space for people with Parkinson’s to:
- Participate in gentle, chair-based exercise
- Enjoy fun and interactive activities
- Engage in open, supportive discussion
- Connect with peers who understand their experiences
