PAPER: Robotic locomotor training more cost-effective than conventional training for patients with complete spinal cord injuries
For patients with spinal cord injuries (SCI), locomotor training to improve or recover motor function after injury is a cornerstone of rehabilitation therapy. A new study reported in the Journal of NeuroEngineering and Rehabilitation found that the cost-effectiveness of the type of locomotor training received – traditional versus robotic – depends on the severity of the injury.

Patient Engagement Intervention in Inpatient Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation
We believe that EMR can be adapted successfully and that the manual and materials can be customized for use in inpatient SCI units. We anticipate that EMR will bring better experiences and outcomes to patients. Patients will engage more and put more effort into therapy, and they will have more positive changes in daily function, mood, and satisfaction than the SOC group.

Kara Link: Working to Understand the Connections Between Chronic Pain and Substance Misuse
Link began working with Ehde on a project funded through the Center for Rehabilitation Outcomes Research (CROR) at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. The project examines whether telephone-delivered therapy can help people with disabilities, including multiple sclerosis (MS), stay employed.
