DESCRIPTION
This webinar will discuss the role of the physical therapist on the multidisciplinary team in providing care for individuals with SMA. Topics will include areas of emphasis for evaluation and treatment as well as guiding expectations and navigating the provision of individualized treatment plans within the standard of care. Case application will be included.
LEARNER OUTCOMES
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Compare the primary standardized assessments and other objective measures for evaluating this population.
- Analyze standard of care recommendations for stretching, exercise (strengthening and aerobic activity), standing and bracing.
- Identify important components for treatment through applied case studies highlighting a multidisciplinary approach.
