Body

The Patient and Family Advisory Council serves an important role in promoting our patient-focused care. It offers a forum for patients and families to give input regarding our programs and policies, identifying opportunities to optimize the patient experience.

The Patient and Family Advisory Council meets 10 evenings in a yearlong term. Meetings last no longer than two hours, food is served and parking validation is available.

Who Should Apply?

Body

If you are interested, you do not need experience working in health care to apply. Our goal is to learn about your particular experience with healthcare at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.

An ideal candidate is someone who:

  • has been a patient or family member of a patient who received care at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab
  • enjoys working with others in a positive and productive manner, provides constructive feedback, and is committed to collaboration
  • demonstrates a focus on improving healthcare services and programs
  • has the ability to see beyond personal experiences to assist us in continuing to evolve for the future

Select applicants will be contacted to schedule an interview. Please note that not everyone who applies to this program will be accepted. Selections will be made solely based upon the needs, focus (e.g., diagnosis) and composition of the Council at the time.

Let's get connected.
