Acute Intermittent Hypoxia-primed myoelectric interface training for gait in MS

Myoelectric interface neurorehabilitation training uses surface EMG from targeted leg muscles to drive a visual interface, allowing participants to practice volitional activation of specific muscles rather than whole-limb movement patterns. 

AIH increases motoneuron excitability for a period after exposure, and training delivered during this period may consolidate that change into the muscle activation patterns required for walking. This trial pairs AIH with the training and compares it against training alone. 

Outcomes include walking speed and endurance, leg strength, muscle coordination, and fatigue, along with the training intensity participants are able to tolerate. The results will determine whether priming with AIH produces larger and more durable gains in walking than training alone.
