A new Samsung-sponsored video on CNN highlights GEMS, a lightweight, robotic, hip assist hardware/software device.
Dan Hoppestad, SRAlab patient and research subject, is featured. Dan has benefited from the Samsung device as he recovers from a stroke.
The video also includes soundbites from Arun Jayaraman, PhD, director, Max Näder Lab for Rehabilitation Technologies and Outcomes Research, along with footage of Dr. Jayaraman and Sara Prokup, physical therapist, working with Dan.
"It's really powerful technology," Dr. Jayaraman said. "With Samsung GEMS, people can walk longer. It gives them that stability and protection they need. It's going to be a huge game changer."
