Advancing Lower Limb Rehabilitation: Prosthetics in Motion

04/14/2027 – 04/16/2027

DESCRIPTION
This two-and-a-half-day blended course is designed to provide updated information on the rehabilitation of individuals with lower extremity amputation. Participants will review prosthetic prescription, current prosthetic components, and functional training strategies. Through live models and patient cases, learners will identify appropriate prosthetic components to meet patient-specific needs. Emphasis will be placed on progressing patients beyond basic rehabilitation through targeted interventions for core strengthening, balance, gait, and functional mobility. Educational methods will include lecture, patient videos, case-based learning, live demonstrations, and hands-on workshops. The final day will provide extensive laboratory experiences with live models, enabling participants to translate course content into clinical practice.

*Note: This course is intended for rehabilitation professionals that have a working knowledge of normal gait mechanics.
