Webinar Description: Spinal cord injury/disorder (SCI/D) is a challenging condition affecting the lives of individuals and their families, leading to a significant decline in quality of life. This webinar will explore how technology and predictive biomarkers can aid in rehabilitation and impact rehabilitative care of SCI/D. The presenters will discuss the current and ongoing research regarding biological markers that may correlate with levels of spasticity or neurological recovery and functional improvement. This webinar will conclude with examining the clinician’s role of incorporating this research into practice and the progression of recovery for a patient with SCI/D.

Learner Outcomes: Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify predictive biomarkers that may indicate neurological recovery during the early stages of SCI/D.
  2. List individualized patient-centered rehabilitation strategies to maximize optimal recovery and make informed decisions on resource allocation using biomarkers.

Successful Completion: Participants will be present during the live webinar in its entirety and complete an attendance verification and assessment in the Academy Learning Portal within one month of the live air date.
