DESCRIPTION
Patients in acute inpatient rehabilitation often present with a variety of tubes, lines, drains and medical devices that can impact mobility, safety and overall participation in therapy. This webinar for allied health professionals reviews different types of tubes, lines, drains or medical devices commonly seen in acute inpatient rehabilitation.
This webinar will also review key precautions and safety considerations to support clinical decision-making and reduce risk during therapeutic interventions. Emphasis will be placed on recognizing opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, highlighting how coordinated care among interdisciplinary team members enhances patient outcomes and promotes safe progression of rehabilitation goals.

LEARNER OUTCOMES
Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:  

  1. Differentiate between common tubes, lines, drains and medical devices encountered in acute inpatient rehabilitation. 
  2. Describe the purpose and basic precautions associated with selected tubes, lines or drains in the rehabilitation setting.
  3. Identify at least two opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration in the safe management of tubes, lines or devices.

SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION
Participants will be present during the live webinar in its entirety and complete an attendance verification and feedback survey in the Academy Learning Portal within one month of the live air date.
