About Me

Meg Washburn has devoted 17 years of her career to promoting brands, ideas and stories. Currently, she serves as Executive Director of Communications for Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (formerly Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago), the #1 rehabilitation hospital in America. In this role, she collaborates with the organization’s leadership team, scientists and clinicians to promote the hospital's news, research and patient stories across multiple channels — from traditional/social media to video and internal communications.

Previously, Meg was Vice President of Partner Engagement for Chicago Cares, where she led communications and branding for the city’s premier nonprofit service organization. Before that, she served as Senior Director of Communications for the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, promoting Kellogg’s thought leadership globally. Meg began her career as an administrator for Sotheby’s before transitioning into public relations.

She received her BA in Art History from Northwestern University.
