About Me

Maya Yuen currently manages the Robert R. McCormick Foundation Center for Hope & Equity at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab which aims to provide greater access to healthcare and vocational opportunities to patients living in the south and west sides of Chicago as well as support diversity equity and inclusion initiatives within the organization. Prior to this role, Maya was the Clinical Manager for the Pain Management Center at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. She began working at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, when it was known as the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and has been serving patients and team members in various clinical and leadership roles since 2004. Maya is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in orthopedic physical therapy through the American Physical Therapy Association. Her professional interests include academic education, staff engagement and leadership development through the lens of diversity equity and inclusion.
