Sports for Kids
Sports for Kids offers adaptive sports and recreation programs for children with a diagnosed primary loss or impairment of physical function. Activities promote fitness, independence, friendship and fun!
The program offers recreational opportunities that introduce participants to adaptive sports in a fun, instructional setting. Our sports for kids program provides something for all adaptive athletes — from beginners to competitive — with all activities focused on keeping kids active, building community and having fun.
Shirley Ryan AbilityLab offers both individual and team sports. Teams practice weekly and travel to out-of-town competitions. These experiences help participants build athletic skills and independence under the guidance of trained and educated coaching staff.
Participants who live in Chicago are eligible for door-to-door transportation. Programs are hosted at multiple locations throughout Chicagoland.
