About Me

Erika Virginia Zabre, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Knowledge Translation of Exercise and Activity for Symptom Management (KTEAM) Lab at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. Her work focuses on remote therapeutic monitoring for individuals with Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis, combining consumer-grade wearable-based data and self-report measures to better understand physical activity, exercise behavior and symptom management in daily life. Dr. Zabre’s research is multifaceted, with prior work in myoelectric gait prediction for neural prostheses using neural network-based machine learning, prosthetic design integration, gait analysis in humans and animal models and nanotechnology-based drug delivery.
