José Pons, PhD, scientific chair, Legs + Walking Lab, recently joined elite company as part of the 2021 class of the American Institute for Medical and Biomedical Engineering’s (AIMBE) College of Fellows. Dr. Pons' induction ceremony took place at AIMBE's virtual event on March 26.

The College of Fellows is a distinction that AIMBE reserves for the top 2 percent of medical and biological engineers in the country, including accomplished and distinguished research directors, professors, innovators and entrepreneurs. Included among AIMBE fellows are three Nobel Prize laureates, 18 recipients of the Presidential Medal of Science and/or Technology and Innovation, 195 members of the National Academy of Engineering, 94 members of the National Academy of Medicine, and 43 members of the National Academy of Sciences.
