A newly funded research collaboration between the Regenstein Foundation Center for Bionic Medicine and Coapt, LLC was recently featured in the trade magazine O&P Edge and two Chicago business publications.

The collaboration, supported by $2.3 million in funding from the Department of Defense, will focus on the potential of a virtual reality system and hardware-based therapies to reduce phantom limb pain, or PLP. PLP is a common and debilitating condition where a person may feel painful sensations in the area where the limb is missing. The articles highlight the potential of the collaboration for improving care for Veterans with limb loss, as well as the general population.
