Michelle Knawa, OTR/L

About Me

Michelle Knawa is a Senior Occupational Therapist at Homewood DayRehab Center®. Michelle has been with Shirley Ryan AbilityLab since 2018, gaining valuable experience in the inpatient and DayRehab levels of care. She has extensive experience treating pediatric and adult patients recovering from traumatic brain injury, stroke and spinal cord injury, as well as pediatric patients presenting with developmental conditions such as Cerebral Palsy (CP) and cardiac and pulmonary disorders. Michelle is a representative on the OT Practice Council, and has participated in small working groups to help standardize clinical practice in DayRehab. Michelle has also been a co-presenter for pediatric-specific courses offered through The Academy. She loves teaching and mentoring students and staff. Her favorite part about her job in DayRehab is watching her patients recover and get back to doing the things that make life fun.
