About Me

Emily Workman, PT, DPT is a Physical Therapist and Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. Emily received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA. Emily has focused her practice at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab on the Spinal Cord Innovation Center. Emily is a part time research physical therapist in the Sensorimotor Neuroplasticity (SYNAPSE) Lab where she is a clinical expert and intervention therapist on a large-scale clinical trial called PROPEL-SCI that investigates the critical time window for implementation of high intensity gait training following spinal cord injury. Emily's areas of further interest and specialization include prognostication following traumatic and non-traumatic spinal cord injuries, functional electrical stimulation, wound healing and community advocacy.
