About Me

Colleen Hanlon is the outpatient orthopedic supervisor and treating clinician at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab on 15 South. She is also associated faculty of Physical Therapy at Northwestern University Department of Physical Therapy (NUPTHMS). As a University of Illinois at Chicago graduate, she has spent over 28 years of her career in outpatient orthopedics working with amateur and professional athletes, age’s pediatrics through adults. For the past 14 years, Colleen has taught throughout the curriculum at NUPTHMS across the curriculum. She has completed a master's in Grant Writing, Evaluation and Management at Concordia University. She has also completed her Doctorate in Health Science education from Midwestern University and her scholarly publication included research on the efficacy of prevention programs for reducing injury in youth athletes, ages K-12. Colleen is currently a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and NUPTHMS-SRAlab Orthopedic residency mentor. Additional roles she fills include US eligibility assessors for the European Disabled Golf Association (EDGA) and is excited to work with the USGA during the 2024 U.S. Adaptive Open Championship. Colleen is active in the near South Loop community and lives in Chicago with her husband and their three active sons. She enjoys traveling, sports and community outreach with her family.
