From Paralysis to Father of the Bride

Andy McCue was a husband, father and lawyer living in Kansas City. On July 1, everything changed when he fell down a flight of stairs.

 

Andy sustained a spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed. On July 12, he was airlifted to Chicago, where he arrived at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab on a stretcher. Andy underwent intensive physical and occupational therapy and made significant gains, walking out of the hospital on his own in late-August. Recently, he met his next big milestone: father of the bride. On New Year’s Eve, Andy triumphantly walked his daughter down the aisle.
