Adaptive Cycling

Body

The Adaptive Cycling Program is offered year round—outdoors on Chicago's Lakefront Path in the summer and fall, and indoors on Wahoo trainers at the Fitness Center in the winter and spring. The program is offered twice weekly, providing a consistent opportunity for those looking to engage in a cardiovascular and strength training work out. This program is open to both recreational and competitive riders of all ability levels.

Equipment is provided. Space is limited and it is required that you sign up in advance to reserve a spot.

This program is offered free of charge to all registered Sports and Fitness program participants with a current medical form on file.

  • Season: May - November
  • Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • Times: 10:30 am - 2:30 pm
  • Location: Wilson Lot

PRACTICE LOCATION: Practices are at the Lincoln Park Wilson Lot (Wilson Avenue and Lake Shore Drive). We stage in the south east corner of the lot. For an address, you can try to use either of the following: 4600 US-41 N, Chicago, IL 60613 or Wilson Skate Park (700 W Wilson Ave, Chicago, IL 60640).  It works in some GPS apps, but it may not show up in certain apps or maps. Weiss Hospital is also close by (4646 N Marine Dr, Chicago, IL 60640) and would not be a bad address to use if you are having a hard time getting someone to drop you off at our practice location.

WHAT TO BRING: Please bring a bottle of water, sun screen, and a helmet to every practice. If you do not have your own helmet, we will have a program helmet available for use.

WEATHER UPDATES: If there is inclement weather and we are going to cancel practice for the day, we will notify you by 9 AM the day of practice via email.

Cyclists, be sure to download and read "Cycling Program: What to Know" below.
