About Me

Kaitlin Peters is the Manager of the Wheelchair Seating and Positioning Center at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. A Chicago native, she is dedicated to helping patients achieve greater independence through individualized mobility solutions.

Kaitlin earned her undergraduate degree in Italian from the University of Colorado Boulder and her Master’s in Occupational Therapy from Boston University. She joined Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in 2016 as part of the Flex Team, where she gained broad experience across inpatient, DayRehab Center®, and outpatient settings.

Her clinical background includes work in wheelchair skills training, functional high-intensity rehabilitation and pain management. While she has a strong interest in pediatrics, Kaitlin has developed a particular passion for wheelchair seating and positioning.

Kaitlin previously served in a leadership role on the Flex Team for three years before transitioning into her current position. As manager, she leads a multidisciplinary team focused on matching patients with the most appropriate equipment and strategies to support mobility, safety, and long-term independence.
