Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy (DMD): A Review of Current Examination and Treatment Practices in Rehabilitation Throughout the Lifespan

Description: The aim of this webinar is to address current practices in the literature for examination and interventions in individuals with DMD across the lifespan. Students will explore the etiology, clinical course, and rehabilitative interventions associated with neuromusculoskeletal and movement-related functions interfering with the performance of everyday life activities.

Objectives: Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: 

  • Describe the pathophysiology of Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy.
  • Choose appropriate examination techniques given patient medical diagnosis of Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy.
  • Construct a treatment plan for Muscular Dystrophy based on functional and neurological impairments.
  • Identify impairments that indicate referral to the greater interdisciplinary team.
