Kathryn Altonji, MD is an Attending Physician in Brain Injury Medicine at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab and an Assistant Professor within the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Altonji specializes in caring for patients with traumatic and non-traumatic brain injuries including patients with disorders of consciousness through the Amicous program. She also specializes in caring for patients with concussions.

Dr. Altonji completed her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at Indiana University. She earned her Doctor of Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She completed her PM&R Residency at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University/Shirley Ryan Abilitylab. During her residency, she earned a certificate in medical education through the McGaw Medical Education Clinical Scholars Program. She completed her Brain Injury Medicine fellowship at JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute, Hackensack Meridian Health, Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
