Retrospective Interdisciplinary Care for Parkinson's Disease
The purpose of this study is to describe the delivery patterns, patient characteristics, and baseline performance of people referred to proactive rehabilitation at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
Research Project
The Vietnam Head Injury Study (VHIS)
The William F. Caveness Vietnam Head Injury Study (VHIS) is a long-term follow up study of a cohort of 1,221 Vietnam War veterans who sustained mostly penetrating brain injuries (pTBI).
Research Project
Community Mobility & Cognition in Stroke Patients
In collaboration with the Max Näder Lab for Rehabilitation Technologies and Outcomes Research, we gave a group of stroke patients mobile phones that assessed different mobility measures.
Research Project
A Stimulus-Response Framework to Investigate the Influence of Continuous Versus Interval Walking Exercise on Select Serum Biomarkers in Knee Osteoarthritis
A study of Stimulus-Response Framework to Investigate Influence of Continuous Versus Interval Walking Exercise on Select Serum Biomarkers in Knee Osteoarthritis
Research Project
Open Source Bionic Leg
Our open source bionic leg helps facilitate and standardize research in the prosthetics field.
Research Project
Improve dynamic lateral balance of humans with SCI
This project will test whether robotic balance training paired with transcutaneous spinal stimulation will be effective in improving dynamic balance and locomotor function in humans with SCI.
Research Project
Aphasia Trajectory Research Study
This study aims to recognize, identify, and evaluate the trajectory recovery and abilities of a person who has had a stroke and living with cognitive-communication challenges and their respective quality of life.
Research Project
LEGs Lab: Improve dynamic lateral balance of humans with SCI
This project will test whether robotic balance training paired with transcutaneous spinal stimulation will be effective in improving dynamic balance and locomotor function in humans with SCI.
Research Project
Neuromodulation Study
Participate in a novel research study at the Shirley Ryan Abilitylab to improve the function of your muscles after a spinal cord injury.
Research Project
Vibration For Muscle Spasms
This study will use closed-loop control of tendon vibration to implement clinically meaningful management of muscle spasms, and to understand how spinal circuits responsible for spasm generation change in response to vibration
Research Project
Communication Building with Brain-Machine Interface
BMIs have been able to restore basic communication by allowing patients to slowly spell out individual letters by decoding particular signals, most commonly evoked potentials in response to some stimulus.
Research Project
Brain-Machine Interfacing for Hand and Arm Movement
The ultimate goal of this project is to restore hand and arm function to people with paralysis from neurological disorders. Brain machine interfaces - BMIs, which decode electrical signals recorded from the brain, offer one way to bypass the area causing paralysis and intuitively reanimate paralyzed muscles via electrical stimulation.
