Free Parkinson's Service Program For Employment Retention

Free Program: Vocational Rehabilitation Services

Body

This free program is designed to provide people with Parkinson's job services to help to attain or sustain employment with their disability.

We want to help you and believe that providing free virtual access to our vocational rehabilitation counselors will assist in broadening our services to an underserved population due to financial problems, travel restrictions, and geographic locations.

Vocational Rehabilitation counselors have expertise in employment issues for people with disabilities.

Areas we can provide assistance in include:

  • Identifying potential challenges in the workplace including the appropriate methods for disclosure.
  • Problem-solving around individual job requirements.
  • Working directly with employers to help facilitate accommodations.
  • Helping clients to interview or find a new job.

Counseling will be available either over the phone or through face-to-face screen meetings online.

How Could It Be Helpful?

Body

Some people with Parkinson’s experience changes that influence their job performance or other work demands. A vocational rehabilitation counselor may help you navigate these changes by helping you work through the decision to disclose your diagnosis, requesting accommodations like assistive technology, or helping you interview for new jobs.
