About Me

Samantha Smith, MS, OTR/L, is an occupational therapist with 10 years of experience dedicated to advancing patient care and professional development at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. A graduate of Western Michigan University’s Occupational Therapy program, she has contributed across Flex Staff, Outpatient Care and the Nerve, Muscle & Bone Innovation Center. Her clinical interests include orthotic fabrication and hand therapy, vision rehabilitation and the care of medically complex populations.

As Manager of Allied Health Orientation and Training within the Internal Staff Development Department, Samantha supports new allied health professionals during their onboarding experience, helping ensure a strong foundation for high-quality, patient-centered care. She also serves as Secretary on the Executive Board of the Illinois Occupational Therapy Association and has held the Chair position of the Occupational Therapy Practice Council. She is passionate about mentorship, lifelong learning, collaboration and advancing human ability through innovative, evidence-based practice.
