At the Chicago History Museum's 26th Annual Making History Awards on Oct. 6, Joanne C. Smith, MD, president and CEO of Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, was honored with the Enrico Fermi Making History Award for Distinction in Science, Medicine and Technology. This year, the award ceremony was held virtually.
According the Chicago History Museum, the Making History Awards “pay tribute to the positive and enduring impact of some of our city’s extraordinary leaders.” Located in Lincoln Park, the Chicago History Museum houses a collection of artifacts, exhibits and tours related to our city's history.
Dr. Smith's award was presented by Shirley Ryan.
