Military Sports Camp

Body

The 2019 Military Sports Camp will be a Skills Academy featuring two intensive sport clinics for veteran and active duty military personnel with a primary physical disability interested in advancing his/her athletic skills in either SLED HOCKEY or WHEELCHAIR SOFTBALL. Intermediate-level athletes are invited to learn from elite-level coaches and enjoy all Chicago has to offer. Local ground transportation, lodging, meals, and program activities are provided to military personnel at no cost. A small travel stipend may be available to help offset the cost of travel to Chicago.

Military Sports Programs

Body

In addition to our annual Military Sports Camp, we offer the following popular programs for our participants with a military background in mind. Please note that to participate in the ongoing sports programs offered, the Sports Program requires that a completed medical form and waiver be on file.

Archery
Learn the fundamentals of archery for fun or for competition with the Archery Program. Equipment and coaching will be available on site. Tournaments and competitive opportunities are available for those interested.

Rock Climbing
Reaching new heights! The Rock Climbing Program is the newest addition to the sports line-up.

Program meets every other Monday evening for a three-hour, guided session of indoor climbing. The program is open to people of all ability levels. Adaptive equipment is provided.

Cycling/Handcycling
Ride for fun, fitness, or competition. Join the SRALab Sports Adaptive Cycling program for rides along the lakefront during the summer months or indoor CompuTrainer™ during the winter. Handcycles (arm-powered bikes) are available for use and participants are welcome to bring their own cycles too.

For more information on any of these programs, contact Aimee Gottlieb at agottlieb@sralab.org.
