Management of Attention Disorders
DESCRIPTION
Brain Injuries can impact our patients’ ability to pay attention ranging from simply sitting in a room and focusing on a speaker to multi-tasking in a busy environment. This course will review various deficits associated with attention and examine how these deficits may affect our patients both in a therapeutic setting and outside in the community. The course will review the current assessments available to identify attention deficits. Finally, we will discuss evidence-based research available and best practice techniques associated with the treatment of attention deficits
LEARNER OUTCOMES
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify different types of attention deficits associated with brain injury
- Recognize current assessments used to identify attention deficits
- Discuss current evidence based practice and implement best practice techniques for attention deficits
