An Interdisciplinary Approach in Pressure Injury Preventions: Case Studies
DESCRIPTION
Through the use of case studies, this webinar will demonstrate how nurses and allied health can work together to optimize outcomes in regards to pressure injury prevention. Acute rehabilitation uses many different orthotics and other devices that can cause skin breakdown. Using the correct device in the proper manner will help in preventing injury. Early education that can carry over into the community, post discharge will
be addressed.
LEARNER OUTCOMES
Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Define pressure injury and risk factors according to the NPIAP
- Explain the different risks associated with a specific patient population
- Select the appropriate interventions based on the risk factors for a specific
patient population
