Sports Programs for Kids: Recreational & Competitive

The Tengelsen Family Foundation Sports for Kids Program provides participants ages of 6-21 an opportunity to try a wide range of adaptive sports year-round.

The program offers both recreational and competitive sports opportunities that introduce participants to adaptive sports, providing a fun and instructional setting to stay active.

Recreational Sports for Kids Programs

Junior Competitive Sports Program

Junior competitive sports include:

Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, in partnership with the Chicago Park District, offers the only youth wheelchair basketball and wheelchair softball programs in the city. Our teams practice weekly and travel to out-of-town competitions, providing participants with opportunities to develop their sports skills, as well as independence, under the guidance of educated and trained coaching staff.

Requirements

Participants must be between the ages of 6-21. Children of all skill levels are welcome.
