About Me

Rui is a postdoctoral fellow at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, currently working on wearable data analysis and recovery trajectory modeling with machine learning for children after appendectomy. Before joining Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, Rui was a senior electronics engineer at MKS Instruments, working on electronics development for new products. Rui got his PhD degree from Texas A&M University. His research during his PhD study focused on smart insole electronics design, and sensor data analysis and modeling with machine learning to help patients with Parkinson's disease in daily life scenarios.
