Safety, Reliability, and Efficacy of the Harmony SHR Upper Extremity Robotic Rehabilitation System in the Inpatient Rehabilitation Setting for Patients with Acute Stroke

Body

The objective of this study is to evaluate the safety, reliability, and effectiveness of the use of Harmony SHR in rehabilitation of the upper extremities in the inpatient stroke population as compared to conventional occupational therapy.

Participants receive either one hour of occupational therapy with use of Harmony SHR to support the UE during functional tasks or one hour of conventional occupational therapy up to 5x/week for the length of their inpatient rehabilitation stay.

Subject Population

Body

  • Inpatient stroke (diagnosed with a stroke and admitted to the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab)
  • Ages 21 years and older
  • Does not have powered, implanted cardiac device
  • Is not pregnant or nursing
