Cachexia is a muscle wasting syndrome that half of all cancer patients experience. Ishan Roy, MD, PhD, is beginning new research to help early identification of patients who may develop this syndrome. Early identification would eventually lead to earlier treatment and intervention, hopefully resulting in better patient outcomes.
