Scott Guevin, an expert on Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) operations, rules and regulation, has more than 25 years’ experience in hospital administration, management and finance.
Since 2017, Scott has worked to ensure a world-class experience for Shirley Ryan AbilityLab inpatients. He manages a variety of patient-care areas, as well as the administration of inpatient operations, including profitability, growth, quality outcomes, cost-effectiveness, accreditation and education. He also directs the operations of inpatient allied health, care management, ancillary services, regulatory functions and admitting. Additionally, he works collaboratively with senior management of Shirley Ryan AbilityLab to ensure a seamless and integrated inpatient rehabilitation experience.
Previously, Scott served as CEO of Penn State Health Rehabilitation Hospital, where he combined his clinical expertise with his business acumen to guide the hospital through a period of rapid growth and expansion while achieving exceptional patient outcomes.
Scott holds five college degrees, three of them graduate: a master’s degree in Physical Therapy from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., a doctorate in Physical Therapy from Simmons College in Boston, Mass., and an MBA from Rutgers University in Newark, N.J. He is Board Certified in Healthcare Management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).
He has been honored with a number of awards, among them Rutgers University MBA program’s Oppenheim Award for Excellence in Analytical Techniques and the Alumni Award for Excellence from Mercy College Graduate Program in Physical Therapy.
