About Me

Dr. Hassaballa is dedicated to a compassionate and holistic approach to healing. She enjoys creating partnerships with her patients and incorporating their input into their plans of care, while considering all options such as lifestyle changes, medications, evidence-based nutritional supplements, and non-traditional treatments such as acupuncture. Dr. Hassaballa is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as sub-specialty Board certified in Brain Injury Medicine by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Her specialty includes stroke rehab, acute concussion, spasticity, and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation.

Dr. Hassaballa is a native of Chicagoland. Dr. Hassaballa obtained her medical degree in Osteopathic Medicine from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University in 2010. In 2011, she rotated as an Osteopathic Intern at the Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. She continued her training at Loyola University Medical Center in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation from 2011-2014 where she served as chief resident for the 2013-2014 academic year. During her residency training she participated in multiple research projects and has twice received awards for Excellence in research from Loyola University Medical Center. In addition, she won the award for Chief resident excellence award in 2014. Dr. Hassaballa then completed a fellowship in Brain Injury Medicine at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital and Medstar National Rehabilitation Hospital in 2015.
