The Effect of Lateral Tilt in Gait on the Knee Joint

IRB Protocol Number STU00204249

Contact

Prakash Jayabalan pjayabalan@sralab.org

Objective

The goal of this particular study of subjects without knee OA is to better understand how providing a knee joint perturbation through walking on a laterally inclined treadmill affects the biomarker (biological) response of the knee joint. Overall this pilot study is expected to improve our understanding of the relationship between biomechanical load placed on the knee joint and serum biomarkers of cartilage degradation and inflammation.

  • Free from any history of knee or hip pain
  • Ability to walk 30 minutes at a time

Compensation

Yes $15 for initial visit; $50 for each experimental session (2 total)
