Dr. Rho is a Sports Medicine Physician in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Northwestern University. She is also a member of the U.S. Soccer Medical Advisory Board. Previously, she served as the Team Physician for the U.S. Men’s Paralympic Soccer Team and represented the United States as part of the medical team at the 2016 Paralympics Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Colleen Hanlon PT, CSCS, DHS is a master therapist at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, in the department of outpatient orthopedics. She is an associate adjunct faculty, in the department of Physical Therapy and Human Movement Sciences. As former University of Illinois at Chicago graduate, she has spent more than 25 years of her career in outpatient orthopedics working with amateur and professional athletes. Colleen completed a Doctorate in Health Science education and her scholarship includes publication on the efficacy of prevention programs for reducing injury in youth athletes, ages K-12.  She is active in the near South Loop community and was one of the founders of Near South Soccer League (NSSL) and Near South Youth Association (NSYA).

AbilityLab doctors specialize in non-surgical treatment options. Their medical specialty is called “PM&R” (physical medicine and rehabilitation). The Musculoskeletal Medicine doctors are nerve, muscle, bone and brain experts who treat injury or illness non-surgically to decrease pain and restore function. Rather than focus only on surgery, your rehabilitation care team, led by a Musculoskeletal Medicine specialist, is trained to take a holistic approach, i.e., to explore non-surgical rehabilitation to give you the best chance to have the best outcome.

Many of our therapists have post graduate education in topical areas such as spine pathology, sports injuries, temporomandibular joint disorders and women’s health. We provide an active therapy approach where the focus is placed on patient education and an individualized approach to their treatment in order to obtain the best outcomes in an efficient manner.
