Assessment and Treatment of Low Level Brain Injured Patients
Description: This webinar provides participants with an overview of the Disorders of Consciousness and the ability to utilize concrete distinguishing characteristics to differentially diagnose Coma, Vegetative State, and Minimally Conscious State. Additionally, it defines consciousness and how to determine consciousness in low level brain injury patients. Assessment tools and techniques for these populations, and an interdisciplinary approach to treatment planning will be reviewed.

Objectives Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Distinguish between various “low level” populations
- Describe current assessment techniques for those in a disordered state of consciousness or early consciousness
- Identify treatments for individuals who are in a disordered state of consciousness, as well as those individuals who are conscious and significantly impaired
