Constructing Your Clinical Question to Deliver Useful Results: From Patient Applications to Research Inquiry

Description:  This webinar reviews the utility of well-formed clinical questions for treatment planning and analysis of the state of the scientific literature.  A framework will be reviewed for constructing clinical questions that promote strategic and efficient review of research literature by the practicing clinician.  Examples will be drawn from physical and occupational therapy and speech-language pathology with a focus on bridging findings into practice.  Use of findings for further research inquiry will be discussed.

Objectives 

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: 

  • Describe the utility of clinical questions to address patient needs
  • Apply a framework to develop a clinical question and guide a literature search
  • Analyze how your clinical question would contribute to the research literature
