2/09/21 Heart Failure: Rehabilitation Considerations

Description: Participants will learn about the pathophysiology and medical management of heart failure, examination techniques to monitor for medical status changes, and safe and effective exercise prescription development for people with heart failure. The target audience is physical and occupational therapists working in the inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation and home health settings. .
Objectives: Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Explain the pathophysiology related to Heart Failure and its impact on movement.
- Evaluate a patient with diagnosis of heart failure in the inpatient, outpatient, or home health settings, including monitoring for medical status changes warranting additional medical follow-up.
- Develop a safe and effective plan of care, including exercise prescription, for a person with heart failure in the inpatient, outpatient and home health settings.
