Description: Guillain Barre Syndrome is a rare neurologic condition that leads to weakness and sensory impairments. Patients with Guillain Barre often have high rehabilitation needs and benefit greatly from intensive rehabilitation from an interdisciplinary rehabilitation. This talk will cover an overview of the disease, initial medical management, treatment, therapy strategies, and outcomes.
Objectives: Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify the clinical features of Guillain Barre Syndrome
- Identify the diagnostic criteria for Guillain Barre Syndrome
- Discuss different prognostic factors for patients with Guillain Barre Syndrome
- Counsel patients with Guillain Barre Syndrome regarding common questions asked about their condition
