Rehabilitation of the Patient with Acute Burns

Description: This course will outline and describe the principles and treatments utilized when treating patients with burns.  Patients with burns can be complicated and challenging; in light of their complexities it is important that all members of their health care team are knowledgeable and unified.  Participants of this course should learn the foundation in which treatment plans are created to maximize functional outcomes.

Learner Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the principles of burn rehabilitation and the pathophysiology impacting treatment options 
  • Discuss the goals of burn rehabilitation
  • Identify the predictive factors impacting functional outcomes
