Description: This course will review common medical complications associated with traumatic brain injury by organ system, discussing frequencies, recognition, and management approaches. The review also will summarize the existing literature on the impact of these conditions on rehabilitation and long-term outcomes.

Objectives Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
• Discuss the common medical complications after TBI
• Describe when acute referral to a specialist is needed
• Explain how medical complications may interfere with the course of recovery
• Summarize some of the common medical and modality interventions
• Describe the impact of complications on TBI prognosis
